? Why Is Korea Post Suspending U.S.-Bound Mail?
Due to new U.S. customs regulations effective August 29, 2025, all goods entering the United States will be subject to a 15% import duty, including items previously exempt under the $800 threshold. Korea Post has announced a temporary suspension of EMS, Airmail, and Sea Mail services as it adapts to these changes.
? Affected Services
- EMS: Suspended from August 26
- Airmail: Suspended from August 25
- Sea Mail: Already suspended
Note: Document-only shipments may still be accepted.
✅ Shipping Alternatives
Senders can still use private courier services such as FedEx and EMS Premium (UPS), which support customs declarations and remain operational for U.S.-bound shipments.
⏳ When Will Services Resume?
There is currently no confirmed date for resumption. Korea Post is working to implement systems that comply with the new U.S. customs requirements.
